Darryl Askew, born and raised in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA, has been performing professionally for over 25 years. He is a multi-talented singer, musician, songwriter, arranger, and producer. He’s been writing songs since the age of 9. Darryl started playing the bass guitar at the early age of 12 . He started performing in night clubs, theaters, and concert halls at the age of 15. Some of his musical inspirations are Earth, Wind, & Fire, The Whispers, Jeffery Osborne, and Stevie Wonder. Darryl has performed with various local artist as well as national acts such as Richie Havens, Eddie Hollman, The Smothers Brothers, Jean Carn, Miki Howard, and Jerry "The Iceman" Butler. Darryl is an accomplished singer/musician playing several instruments. Darryl also owns a small production company called Southpaw Productions in Pittsburgh. Darryl is the founder & leader of the group Platinum.
